Wow! Where has the time gone? It's been over six months since I posted my 35 by 35 blog post; which I might add, was my last blog post. I'll tell you, if you haven't tried a challenge of that sort before, it truly is a very rewarding experience. There wasn't anyone who heard about it who wasn't excited to take part, even if in the smallest way.
Over those last six months I have really lost track of time. I am sitting here confused at to how there are only EIGHT Mondays left in this school year. I might add; I am also a bit anxious over how much there is still to accomplish within those last eight weeks. I know around here, the STARR test is a very big deal and I cannot wait for this to no longer be hanging over our heads.
For my daughter, this means sitting at school for 10 hours, (she stays for the after care program) then coming home to a hungry, exhausted mom who now has to play the bad guy and make her sit still and do more school work, find something to make for dinner, try to fit in an exercise and get everyone to bed on time. Needless to say, one day quickly turns into another day and another day and before I realize it, I'm counting down Mondays left in the school year.
Well, I'm here to tell you... I'm going to make a change. How? Oh, well, I'm not sure. However, I know I can't be the only one with this struggle, so what better way to find a break through if not in front of a bunch of strangers on the internet. The more I learn, the more I'll share. My struggles, my fears, my failures and of course all of my accomplishments and successes.
I know countless women in my life who seamlessly pull off working full time, while managing to keep their hearts, mind and body healthy. Oh and their children are happy, involved, active and somehow they still have time to make plans on the weekend. (Even at their own houses that are orderly and clean.) These women, probably think I'm crazy because of how repetitive I am at telling them how awesome they are. But it's so very true!
So, here are my hopes, my dreams, my plans... or at least my best intentions.
- Grow in my career.
- Exercise.
- Meal plan lunches/dinners.
- Schedule after school hours better for homework/study time and bedtime.
- Create a household chore schedule.
- Create time for DIY projects and fun new ideas.
- Create time to blog.
- Take more pictures - improve my photography.
- Encourage happiness and kindness.
- Be the best ME that I can be to all of those in my life.
Now, here's to claiming back the hours in my day! Advice welcome!
